Day 24. El Acebo to Ponferrada

Again a beautiful sunny day. Each day gets warmer. Today we walked a winding, rather steep path up and down the hills.  The country side is so different than what we see in SK.

There are certainly interesting trees and other vegetation.

After about 2 hours of walking it was time for some cafe and this beautiful town appeared. We enter Molinaseca by a bridge crossing the rio Maruelo.  We had a rest first on the benches and just enjoyed the view. Then it was off to the restaurant.

The flowers on the trail were everywhere.

Lunch was on the trail in an open field overlooking the city of Ponferrada. As we resumed walking, I heard singing. When they saw me they stopped but I told them to continue the "beautiful music". The man and woman (Spaniards) sang me a song.
I had to give them my last two Canada flag pins. Then we all walked into Ponferrada singing.

And then we saw the Castillo de los Templarios - a castle!! How much better can it get??!!??
