Day 12 & 13. Burgos to Castrjeriz

Leaving Burgos means entering the "meseta" which is the flat farmland of Spain. Looks very much like SK. There are longer distances between towns. It is also difficult to get wifi or cell coverage in parts of the meseta.

Today there was fog as we walked out of town but soon the sky was bright. I walked over a Roman bridge that was built in the 1st century. That makes it 2012 years old!!! When we do walk through a town we stop and have a rest and something to eat or drink with our pilgrim friends. That's Michel from Bordeaux France who I keep meeting. We think it is funny because we have the same name.

Just before we got into town today we saw a family doing the Camino on donkeys. Yes it is allowed because in the Middle Ages many pilgrims used donkeys. However, I would think it would be difficult to take care of donkeys on the Camino today.

I said I would post a picture of a dessert I had last night. Strawberries and whipped cream. Not a pastry but still very good.
